Requirements for the materials used in disposable syringes

(1) It must be suitable for the intended use of single-use medical syringes and the sterilization method to be employed.
(2) Single-use medical syringes must not undergo any physical or chemical changes when used normally for injecting medications.
(3) The outer sheath of single-use medical syringes is made from polypropylene or polyethylene. It has a certain degree of transparency and allows for easy reading of the dosage.
(4) The plunger of single-use medical syringes is made from high-quality natural rubber, and its surface is lubricated with polydimethylsiloxane. The materials used in single-use medical syringes must be completely harmless to the human body.
(5) Does not hinder the use of recycled materials.
To ensure smooth sliding performance between the inner surface of a disposable medical syringe and its plunger, lubrication may be applied. However, the amount of lubricant used must be kept to a minimum—specifically, no lubricant should accumulate on the inner surface of the syringe’s outer jacket—to avoid adverse reactions. Moreover, since disposable medical syringes are medical devices with precise dosage limitations, it is essential to impose restrictions on the residual volume of each model of disposable medical syringe in order to guarantee the accuracy of drug delivery.
